Jaime Méndez
Jaime Mendez is the original anchor of Noticias Univision Seattle (formerly Noticias Noroeste) since its inception in 2007. This is the first local Spanish-language newscast in a full 30-minute format, Monday through Friday at 6 and 11 PM.
In addition to being heavily involved in the news arena, Mendez is passionate about soccer and is also co-host of the Sounders FC en Acción show, a highlight of the Seattle team's week in the M.L.S., and a Fútbol en Vivo announcer of select Sounders FC matches on the M.L.S.
Prior to devoting himself fully to television, Mendez worked in local Spanish-language radio and since 1996 has hosted a variety of news and community-oriented programs including Café y Noticias, Latinos Días and El Show de Jaime y Luciana por la Mañana, among others.
Jaime Mendez has been a pioneer of Spanish-language communications in the region and is proud to serve his Latino community in and around Seattle, with whom he feels a strong connection.
Mendez is Colombian and has lived in the United States since 1987. He is a 1995 graduate of The Evergreen State College's Communications, Political Science and Social Sciences program.
